Continuously updating | Five high-quality medical assets showcased, and Meritsip sincerely invites cooperation and matchmaking!

Introduction:
Currently, the biopharmaceutical industry is at a critical juncture of technological paradigm transformation. Frontier tracks such as exosome drugs, nucleic acid delivery, cell therapy, and multispecific antibodies have attracted significant attention from capital. This issue highlights five high-quality medical innovation projects, all in clinical advancement or IND preparation stages, and can carry out various collaborations such as investment, licensing, and collaborative development.Below are the details of this issue’s high-quality medical innovation assets:

1. RNA Delivery and Clinical Exosome Drug

Project focuses on central nervous system drug delivery, forming a dual-layer layout of “natural exosome drugs + RNA delivery platform + subsequent indication expansion.” At the front, there is already a natural exosome drug direction, advancing around scenarios such as severe pulmonary inflammation, acute exacerbation of COPD, stroke, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and heart failure. Some areas have already accumulated human case data and IIT data; The rear end builds a central RNA delivery chassis around engineered biological vesicles, aiming to address key bottlenecks such as the difficulty of RNA drugs crossing the blood-brain barrier, insufficient effective distribution in the brain, and poor feasibility of long-term dosing.

The platform’s core highlight lies in balancing loading capacity, brain delivery capability, and long-term drug delivery scenarios. Existing delivery systems are compatible with siRNA, mRNA, circular RNA, and gene editing payloads, and have been proven to support multi-RNA coloading and longer fragment loading; Intracranial data have shown a high average load of individual vesicles, functional intracranial knockdown can reach 40%–60%, and the patient has strong neuronal delivery capacity. In terms of drug delivery routes, the company is also developing non-invasive methods such as nasal delivery, which are more suitable for managing chronic CNS diseases. In the short term, natural exosome drugs can provide a driving force for clinical and regulatory advancement; In the medium to long term, RNA delivery platforms have the potential to accumulate into more replicable underlying capabilities.
On the drug side, early human validation has been conducted in areas such as severe inflammation and heart failure, and CMC, separation processes, and scale-up production have entered the stages of cooperation and licensing discussions with overseas companies; On the platform side, it corresponds to the long-standing high-barrier track of central RNA drugs, supporting both self-development and external cooperation and licensing opportunities. The company has already begun discussions with overseas exosome companies on CMC, separation processes, scale-up production, and licensing cooperation. The clinical drug and platform delivery lines can correspond respectively to proximal transformation and medium- to long-term platform extension. The Series A financing scale is between 50 million and 100 million RMB, focusing on clinical advancement, GMP capacity building, and expansion of the RNA delivery platform.

2. Multi-Scenario Conversion Platform

for Fullerene This project uses fullerene as its core underlying technology platform and has established a relatively complete system covering high-purity raw material preparation, purification and separation, quality control, formulation development, pharmacological research, and application transformation. Unlike single-pipeline companies, its value lies not only in a single R&D asset, but also in possessing underlying material capabilities, innovative drug development potential, and a foundation for multi-scenario industrialization, enabling synergistic layouts in pharmaceuticals, new materials, and consumer health.

The project has established efficient and stable fullerene synthesis and purification capabilities, has a foundation for high-purity batch preparation, and has been extended into pharmaceutical raw material and formulation development, as well as preclinical research. On one hand, this platform provides foundational support for innovative drug R&D, and on the other hand, it enables it to enter application scenarios such as new photovoltaic materials and functional consumer products. Compared to projects that rely solely on a single R&D node, this “underlying platform + diversified applications” structure offers greater continuity in terms of technical barriers, application extension, and subsequent commercial acceptance.

In the pharmaceutical sector, the project focuses on fullerene’s antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and multi-target regulatory mechanisms, laying out multiple innovative drug pipelines for major diseases, covering supportive oncology care, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and neurodegenerative diseases. Its R&D logic is not limited to a single indication, but rather extends to multiple high-demand clinical scenarios based on common mechanisms of action, demonstrating strong platform reusability. Currently, leading assets have entered the clinical application and clinical preparation stages, and the project overall shows a dual-track advancement pattern of “underlying technology platform + key clinical assets.

Besides innovative drugs, the project already has a preliminary foundation for industrial application. Fullerene materials have entered the evaluation and application systems of leading perovskite industry chain enterprises, and have made positive progress in performance validation and commercial cooperation; At the same time, related consumer goods and cosmetics sectors have also formed a certain market acceptance capacity. Therefore, the project is not typical of a typical R&D company relying solely on long-term clinical deliveries, but rather a real-world business interface and industrialization support beyond R&D advancement.

3. Central Nervous System Nucleic Acid Nano Delivery Platform

This project focuses on the high-barrier scenario of central nervous system drug delivery, centered on a programmable delivery platform based on nucleic acid nanostructured particles, capable of carrying DNA, RNA, proteins, and small molecule drugsThe focus is on solving issues such as low delivery efficiency of deep brain and spinal cord tissues, insufficient load compatibility, and difficulties in immunogenicity control. The platform uses short-stranded DNA as the base material, enabling selective tissue delivery through programmable design of morphology, structure, and size, balancing degradability and in vivo safety. It is suitable for neurodegenerative diseases, brain tumors, and other challenging central system indications. Its existing layout covers brain delivery, spinal cord delivery, brain tumors, and triple-negative breast cancer, forming a multi-path structure of “platform + self-developed pipeline + collaborative development + authorized output.”

The platform’s value is mainly reflected in its central delivery capability and payload versatility. Existing data have confirmed its distribution advantage in the deep brain parenchyma. Head-to-head comparison shows that nucleic acid drugs delivered by the platform can penetrate deep into tissues below the brain surface, while the control technology’s distribution in the brain rapidly decays with depth; In the ALS transgenic mouse model, the delivery performance of the 25ug vector was superior to that of the 100ug free nucleic acid drug, demonstrating higher delivery efficiency and better dosing utilization. The platform supports nucleic acid drugs, small molecules, and protein payloads, offering the capability to serve as a universal delivery foundation, serving CNS drug development and serving as a synergistic module for existing partner assets. The team has published milestone papers in the field of nucleic acid self-assembly and delivery, and has received support from the National Key R&D Program and the Ministry of Science and Technology, providing a foundation for continuous iteration and research transformation.

The project is currently in the preclinical stage, with a relatively complete early validation closed loop: the underlying platform has completed mechanism construction, with key directions advanced in rodent and non-human primates pre-stage, and the first CNS project has received clear efficacy signals. For investors, these assets have the opportunity to become a universal chassis in the central delivery sector, which can be valued through self-developed development or amplified commercial value through joint development and licensing. The central nervous system has long been one of the most challenging delivery stages in innovative drug development. If the platform continues to verify deep tissue coverage, safety, and multipayload compatibility, it will have strong potential for collaboration and transaction expansion.

4. Universal iPSC Cell Therapy Platform

This project focuses on iPSC cell therapy development and has established a layout of “universal iPSC platform + multiple translational pipelines + GMP industrialization foundation.” The company is positioned for the development of ready-to-stock, standardized cell drugs, with a 4,000-square-meter site and a 1,000-square-meter GMP cell preparation workshop, making it one of the earliest platforms in Southwest China to establish the research and transformation of universal iPSCs. The team integrates resources from the Blood Transfusion Institute of the Academy of Medical Sciences, West China Hospital, Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital, and overseas iPSC research resources, and has established a complete framework covering cell origin, functional cell development, and downstream translational applications.

The core of the platform is that iPSCs provide a cell drug chassis with unified sourcing, stable quality, and scalability, making it more suitable for developing general and off-the-shelf products。 The company has obtained 18 patents, including 10 invention patents, covering iPSC, MSC, Treg, NK, organoids, and related cultivation and preparation methods. The current layout is not a single direction, but simultaneously covers multiple scenarios such as hair loss, Alzheimer’s disease, and liver cancer: hair loss has already been conducted at Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital, with significant increases in hair density in animal data; The Alzheimer’s disease direction responds to the continuously expanding domestic demand for aging; In the liver cancer field, the approach is advancing universal cell therapy around the GPC3 target.
On the market side, iPSC cell therapy has moved from the concept stage to a stage of accelerated global translation. Products have already been approved in Japan, multiple overseas projects are entering mid-to-late clinical stages, and domestic financing for 2025–2026 is also clearly focused on iPSCs. The company operates in a track with clear capital attention and industry trends. The hair loss market is expected to exceed 200 billion yuan by 2030, and the number of Alzheimer’s patients continues to rise rapidly, providing clear space for further indication expansion. Overall, this is a cell therapy asset based on a cutting-edge cell platform, undertaking multiple translational directions, and already having GMP and team foundations.

5. Multispecific Antibody Drug Platform

Project Focusing on high-value therapeutic areas such as oncology, autoimmune and inflammation, CNS, and ophthalmology, it has established an innovative drug R&D platform centered on multispecific antibodies. The technology base consists of three modules: a dual-target ADC platform, a three-specific TCE platform, and a multi-target autoimmune platform; At the same time, it is supported by bioinformatics-driven capabilities in target discovery, antibody engineering, translational medicine, CMC, clinical development, and commercialization, forming a complete chain from target to clinic. The platform has currently developed more than 10 FIC/BIC projects, covering bispecific antibody ADCs, trispecific TCEs, and autoimmune bispecific antibodies.

On the pipeline side, two projects have entered global Phase I/II: VBC101 for EGFR×cMET ADC and VBC103 for TROP2×Nectin4 ADC; Projects such as VBS102 are entering IND and clinical trials as planned. In the next two years, the company will reach several key milestones: data readouts for Phase I/II of VBC101 and VBC103 in China and the US, multiple ADCs, TCEs, and autoimmune bispecific antibody programs entering IND, and the initiation of clinical trials for VBS102. The technology platform and BD capabilities have been validated. VBC103 and VBS102 have successively been licensed to American biotech companies, with total transaction volumes exceeding $1.2 billion.

Its client base is primarily global pharmaceutical companies and innovative biotech companies, including co-development, regional licensing, and early-stage preclinical licensing. The cash flow structure is quite diversified: on one end, non-dilutive income from external licenses; on the other, valuation improvement driven by ongoing financing and clinical milestones. Since its establishment in 2021, the company has completed three rounds of oversubscription financing, raising a total of $163 million, and maintains strong cash reserves to support the advancement of 3 to 4 core assets to clinical proof-of-concept stages.
