China’s Intellectual Property Statistics: First Four Months of 2026 at a Glance
As of January–April 2026, compared with the same period in 2025:
The number of granted invention patents in China reached 295,178, a year-on-year increase of 10.16%.
The number of granted utility model patents stood at 433,388, a year-on-year decrease of 18.38%.
The number of granted design patents amounted to 239,618, a year-on-year increase of 4.87%.
The total number of granted patents for the three categories was 968,184, a year-on-year decrease of 4.87%.
