This round was jointly led by Shijingshan Modern Innovation Industry Fund and Ruili Synthetic Bio Fund, with existing existing shareholders also making additional investments. This is a representative large-scale financing event in the intersection of cell therapy and synthetic biology in China in the past six months. As the first biopharmaceutical company at Westlake University to commercialize scientific research achievements, Westlake Biotech has independently built the world’s first adult erythrocyte-drug conjugation technology platform REDx. Relying on the biological characteristics of mature red blood cells being nucleated, with a long circulating half-life of up to 120 days in vivo, and natural immune immunity, it overcomes common industry pain points of traditional protein/antibody drugs such as short half-lives, high immunogenicity risks, and narrow payload delivery channels. It supports the long-term loading of multiple bioactive molecules such as antibodies, recombinant proteins, and nucleic acids.

Currently, its core pipeline WTX-212 is the world’s first red blood cell-anti-PD-1 antibody conjugate drug to enter clinical stages. It has been validated in early-stage clinical studies to outperform free PD-1 monoclonal antibodies in safety and long-acting antitumor activity. At the same time, the company has simultaneously deployed a red blood cell-mediated nucleic acid delivery pipeline that covers unmet clinical needs such as rare diseases and autoimmune diseases. The funds from this round will focus on advancing full-pipeline clinical development, core product registration applications, and the establishment of a dedicated GMP production system. Relying on the synergy of the investors’ industrial resources, Westlake Biosciences will accelerate the global intellectual property layout of China’s original red blood cell drug technology, seizing the leading ground in the global engineered red blood cell therapy track.

3. Molecular Heart completes over $100 million in financing, defining global AI protein industry infrastructure

Recently, Molecular Heart, an AI protein design platform company, announced the completion of a Series A financing series with a total amount exceeding 100 million USD. The investors include leading hard technology investment institutions, biopharmaceutical industry capital, and a diversified lineup of national-level industry guidance funds, marking the leading early-stage financing event in the global AI biomanufacturing sector in recent years. Currently, AI for Science has moved from single-point technology validation into deep industrial deployment, and the global AI protein race has completed the leap from laboratory-level model competition to industrial-grade infrastructure competition. Molecular Heart was founded by Xu Jinbo, a world-class founder in protein structure prediction. Its original full-stack technology system has been validated across multiple industries: the core protein structure prediction model MMFold leads international peers in multiple industrial measurement indicators, the end-to-end AI protein design platform MMDesign has a target affinity modification success rate more than three times higher than traditional R&D models, and its self-developed AI biological engineering operating system MoleculeOS breaks through the limitations of single-point model scenarios. Implemented in therapeutic protein development, industrial enzyme customization, synthetic bioelement design, and other fields, relying on real-world scenario data from industry recirculation to form a forward-iteration flywheel. This round of financing has received high recognition from capital, with the core logic being that Molecule Heart is one of the few benchmark companies in the global sector that simultaneously possesses fundamental original technology barriers, full-chain engineering capabilities, and industrial-level commercial closed loops. This round of funds will be used to accelerate the global industrialization of full-stack technology systems, promote the upgrade of biomacromolecule R&D to “programmable bioengineering,” and is expected to define the next generation of global bioengineering infrastructure industry standards.

4. Xinsheng Vision completes nearly 100 million yuan seed round financing, led by Matrix Partners Ventures

Recently, Chipshen Vision, a domestic invasive brain-computer interface company focused on visual restoration, officially announced the completion of nearly 100 million yuan in seed financing. This round was led by leading hard tech institution Matrix Partners and followed by Shuimu Venture Capital, a special fund for university achievement transformation. The funds raised will focus on the R&D and implementation of invasive visual cortex prostheses, mass production process iterations, and the establishment of GLP-level preclinical validation systems. Currently, the global visual-brain-computer interface track generally faces fragmented pain points, with most R&D teams covering only electrodes, algorithms, and single clinical modules, resulting in significant obstacles to implementation. ChipSight is incubated by the interdisciplinary core R&D teams of Peking University and ShanghaiTech University, building a unique triple technology moat in the industry:

The first is a cumulative dataset of nearly a thousand highly labeled scarce human brain visual activity cases, filling a domestic gap in clinical-grade EEG sample supply;

Second, the independently developed visual codec large model ranks among the top tier in image reconstruction accuracy on international public benchmark sets;

Third, it has mastered the independent design capability of fully implantable, highly integrated micro-stimulation chips, breaking the patent monopoly of overseas manufacturers.

Matrix Partners Ventures, the lead investor in this round, stated that visual repair is the most clinically defined and commercialization path in the brain-computer sector. Xinsheng Vision covers the entire chain from core underlying technology to clinical implementation, perfectly targeting the core competitive focus of next-generation products in “precise analysis of human brain vision encoding.” According to disclosures, Xinsheng Vision has clarified a third-stage transformation pathway, recently completed preclinical validation of large animals, initiated human clinical trials in the mid-term, and expanded to multiple indications for neurological disease treatment in the long term, and is expected to become an entry-level platform for brain-computer interaction in the era of mixed intelligence.

5. Nuowei Biotech secured hundreds of millions of RMB in Series B+ financing

Recently, Nuowei Bio, a clinical-stage innovative drug company focused on early cancer treatment, officially completed a B+ round financing worth several hundred million RMB. This round was led by Kangcheng Investment, with Xinfeng Tianyu, Zhiyue Investment, and Qianyuan Fengqiong as co-investors. It is one of the few large-scale benchmark financing events in China’s nucleic acid innovative drug sector this year focusing on the First-in-Class early cancer treatment pipeline. As a rare domestic innovative drug platform targeting the gap in early tumor intervention markets, Nuowei Bio’s core strength lies in the STARi nucleic acid drug full-chain development system independently built in collaboration with Academician Jiang Jiandong’s team. It overcomes common industry pain points such as high off-target risk for traditional small interfering nucleic acid drugs and inefficient delivery of targeted solid tumors. Its fully independent technology matrix covers sequence design, delivery systems, and quality control production, enabling rapid iteration and differentiated pipelines without relying on overseas licensed technologies.

Currently, Nuowei Biotech has multiple Class I new drug pipelines entering clinical stages, covering scenarios where clinical needs are severely unmet, such as preoperative neoadjuvant therapy and postoperative recurrence prevention for digestive tract tumors. Early-stage clinical data from investigators show that its core pipeline can increase postoperative disease-free survival for early-stage cancer patients by 32%, offering far superior clinical replacement value for conventional therapies. According to company disclosures, all funds raised in this round will be used for multi-center clinical advancement of core pipelines, iterative upgrades of the STARi platform, and preliminary commercialization system layout, accelerating the implementation of domestically developed original early oncology nucleic acid drugs, with the first core pipeline NDA application expected to be submitted in 2027.

6. Yida Capital completed its angel+ round investment in Xihu Lingxi

Westlake University incubator Xihu Lingxi has officially completed tens of millions of yuan in angel+ round financing. This round is jointly funded by leading venture capital firm Yida Capital and industry investors such as Heyu Capital. All funds raised will be invested in iteration of brain-computer interface dedicated chips, clinical validation and industrialization of Chinese-language exclusive EEC decoding technology. As one of the few domestic startup teams to achieve full-chain independent development of core brain-computer interface chips, Xihu Lingxi has taken the lead in tape-out and reliability verification of its 40nm process 256-channel EEG acquisition chip. Its forward-looking 1024-channel chip architecture was also unveiled at the 2026 International Solid-State Circuit Summit (ISSCC, the highest-level global academic conference in the chip field), with core performance indicators ranking among the top tier internationally. The application team avoided the Latin-based brain-computer interaction paths concentrated by overseas manufacturers, took the lead in tackling the Chinese language neuroprosthetic segment, built the world’s first dedicated brain-brain decoding technology system adapted to Chinese phonetic and semantic features, and completed laboratory validation. Related R&D projects have been shortlisted for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s Future Industry Leaderboard list. This round of investment was funded and executed by the Nanjing Future Industry Angel Fund under Yida Capital, which has a total scale of 1 billion yuan. The Yida Capital investment team stated that Xihu Lingxi holds two irreplaceable core barriers: “full-stack chip self-development + Chinese language exclusive decoding.” Going forward, they will leverage industrial resources to accelerate the large-scale implementation of technology and provide inclusive brain-computer interface solutions for special groups with motor function impairments and language expression disorders as soon as possible.

7. Fosun Pharma’s subsidiary Fosun Antegold completed a 968 million yuan capital increase and share expansion, with a pre-investment valuation of 7 billion yuan

On June 15, Fosun Pharma officially disclosed that its core vaccine platform holding subsidiary, Fosun Atejin, completed a 968 million yuan market-oriented capital increase and share expansion, with a pre-investment valuation of 7 billion yuan. This is one of the few large-scale targeted financing events in China’s innovative vaccine sector in 2026, attracting widespread attention from the industry side. The funds for this capital increase come from two main sectors: first, external industries and state-owned capital. Chengdu Guosheng Ceyuan Life and Health Venture Capital Partnership (Limited Partnership) (hereinafter referred to as “Chengdu Guosheng Source Fund”), China Resources (Chengdu) Pharmaceutical Industry Equity Investment Fund Partnership (Limited Partnership [hereinafter referred to as “China Resources (Chengdu) Pharmaceutical Industry Fund”], and Shanghai Jingxu Rongxu Venture Capital Center (Limited Partnership) (hereinafter referred to as “Shanghai Jingxu Rongxu”) jointly contributed 418 million yuan and subscribed for 4.9639 million shares; second, the controlling shareholder continued to increase its investment, with Fosun Pharma’s controlling subsidiary Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical Industry Development Co., Ltd. (the direct controlling shareholder of Fosun Atejin, hereinafter referred to as “Fosun Pharmaceutical Industry”) planning to invest 550 million yuan to subscribe for 6.5315 million shares.

Notably, this transaction breaks through the conventional PE valuation framework, publicly adopting the price-to-research ratio multiple as the core valuation anchor for the first time, benchmarking the global vaccine company’s R&D investment-valuation ratio system, fully aligning with Fosun AteKin’s current development stage attributes: multiple vaccines have been commercially launched and multiple pipelines have entered different clinical trial stages, but overall profitability is still unprofitable by 2025. All funds raised this time will be used for pipeline expansion, capacity optimization, and daily operations. Fosun AteGold has already begun preparations for a Hong Kong listing, and external investors have set up supporting buyback clauses for this round. The listing process still requires multiple regulatory procedures, which is somewhat uncertain.

8. Zhongke Imaging completed tens of millions of yuan in angel round financing, jointly led by Liming Venture Capital and Botuo Biotech

Recently, Zhongke Image, a hardcore implantable brain-computer interface company incubated by the Institute of Automation at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, officially disclosed the completion of an angel round financing worth tens of millions of yuan. This round was co-led by Liming Venture Investment and domestic IVD leader Biotech Biotech, with participation from multiple medical vertical industry institutions. It is the leading angel phase financing event in the early stage of domestic brain-computer interface sector in terms of scale in the past six months. Zhongke Imaging was registered and established in August 2024, with a core team covering neuroscience, chip development, clinical translation, and other fields. Founder Yu Shan has over ten years of research experience in brain signal decoding. The company pursues a differentiated technology route, relying on a deep integration architecture of “brain-machine-AI-embodiment,” requiring only about 10 electrode channels to complete high-precision 3D motion trajectory decoding. Its self-built end-to-end motion planning decoding model enables full-chain automated computation, significantly lowering the clinical application threshold for invasive devices. In April 2026, the company disclosed large animal experiment data far exceeding industry baselines, and pioneered the BCIG brain-computer interface clinical grading system, filling a domestic gap in standard reference in this field; Its self-developed integrated implantable hardware can reduce surgical difficulty by over 40%, simultaneously reducing postoperative recovery and long-term usage costs for patients. This round of investors, Botuo Biotech, continues to deepen its presence in the neurodiagnosis and treatment sector, providing Zhongke Imaging with resources in clinical registration, supply chain, and in-hospital channels. All funds from this round will be used for technological iteration and system optimization, accelerating the implementation of human clinical trials and clinical applications.
