Shen Changyu Holds Bilateral Talks with Heads of IP Agencies and Attends BRICS IP Bureau Directors’ Meeting
From July 7th to 9th local time, during the 66th Session of the WIPO Member Assemblies in Geneva, China’s National Intellectual Property Administration Director Shen Changyu held bilateral talks with heads of IP agencies from multiple countries and organizations. He exchanged views and reached consensuses on IP cooperation. China has made progress in IP – related aspects in the past year. All parties want to deepen cooperation with China in various IP areas. Shen Changyu signed cooperation agreements with some. On July 7th, he shared China’s AI – related IP experience at a ministerial dialogue. On July 8th, at the BRICS IP Bureau Directors’ Meeting, he noted the expansion of BRICS IP cooperation and hoped for more results. The BRICS parties discussed cooperation progress and future meetings and reached consensuses.

Shen Changyu Holds Bilateral Talks with WIPO Director – General Daren Tang
On the morning of July 7 local time, at the 66th Session of the WIPO Member Assemblies in Geneva, Shen Changyu, head of the CNIPA, held bilateral talks with WIPO Director – General Daren Tang. They discussed China’s IP development, AI, and bilateral cooperation.
Shen Changyu said that under President Xi Jinping’s guidance, China – WIPO cooperation has deepened with practical results. China congratulated on the successful conclusion of relevant treaties and will constructively participate in formulating international IP rules.
Daren Tang pointed out that China’s applications for PCT patents, Hague System designs, and Madrid trademarks have grown well, showing China’s innovation vitality. He hopes both sides can deepen cooperation in areas like improving the global IP service system and promoting the development of the global IP governance system.
